Course description

This course has been developed to assist any operative working in or around ground working activities, such as machine operators, banksman, site engineers, site foreman and site managers.

Aim and objectives of the course

The main aim and objective of the course is to give delegates the knowledge, understanding and skill to be able to use and maintain, safely and accurately, radio-electronic underground service location equipment and have an understanding of the correct method of acquiring service drawings.

  • Health and safety legislations
  • Safe working procedures for working in or around underground services
  • CAT & Genny operating principles
  • How to locate services
  • Limitation of equipment and services information
  • Maintenance and on-site checks.
  • Familiarization of service drawings
  • Practical exercises.

This course can be run on the clients’ premises, sites, or at an arranged venue
