Safety Awareness Course

Course description

To help individuals become aware of the basic safety information they would know whilst working on a building or construction environment.

Aim and objectives of the course

The aim of the course has been designed for new entrants to the building and construction industry or other persons seeking to obtain an initial or a better appreciation of some aspects of health and safety within the industry.

  • Accident reporting and emergency procedure.
  • Accident prevention
  • Health and hygiene.
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Heights
  • Working with electricity, underground and overhead cables services.
  • Use of hand held equipment and tools.
  • Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Safe use of vehicles.
  • Noise and Vibration
  • Fire Prevention
  • Excavations and Confined Spaces
  • The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • First Aid

Course assessment

The delegates performance will be assessed by their response to verbal questions throughout the course and their performance in the end test.
